The Haley’s Heroes Foundation invites your support for its Batten May Day Luncheon to be held on May 1, 2023. This is a very special event to increase awareness and raise funds to find a cure for Batten Disease.
Batten Disease is a rare disorder that affects children. Children suffer from progressive neurological impairment that leads to blindness, seizures, dementia, loss of motor skills, loss of speech, and loss of life. After battling Batten Disease for over 5 years, Haley was called back to heaven. She was only 12 years old, but never lost her Her joy of life inspires our fight to find a cure.
We have teamed up with leading experts in the field of gene and regenerative therapy to fund research to stop Batten Disease. Every dollar helps! Awareness is key to changing the outcome for children with Batten! Recently published studies have uncovered a potential link between Batten Disease CLN1 and other neurodegenerative diseases, most notable, Alzheimer’s Disease. Our goal is to fund the investigation of a lifesaving CLN1 drug and discover how it can be useful in treating Alzheimer’s Disease.
